  • LOADING IMAGES

    Load a recent selection of images by right clicking on Menu(F4), on the Control Panel at the bottom of the window, and selecting Recent from the popup menu.
    Or,
    Right click on Menu(F4) and select Open from the popup menu. The Image Finder dialog box will be displayed. On the Quick view panel a list of files and folders in the current folder will be shown. Navigate to the list of images you wish to view and click the Load button. To view a thumbnail image of an image file, select a file name from the list. To get a more specific list of images, select the Advanced tab. Here you can select an image name to look for, or only certain file types etc. as well as image size and file date. You can also check a single folder, all sub folders inside a folder a single drive or all available drives. Once you have the list of images you require, this list can be saved as a Folder profile and added to the Profiles list on the Profiles panel. Click the Load button to view the images.
    Once loaded, from the Control Panel select either
    for MANUAL MODE ,
    for AUTO MODE or
    for SLIDES.
    You can alternate between MANUAL MODE and AUTO MODE while showing images from the same folder, album or profile.

    Function keys can also be used.
    F1 = MANUAL MODE
    F2 = AUTO MODE
    F3 = SLIDES
    F4 = Menu

    MANUAL MODE

    From the Control Panel click the > button to display the first or next image. Click the < button to display previously shown image. At the bottom of the Image Screen, the file name, image number and number of images will be displayed. To fast forward click >> button or to rewind click <<. Various operations can now be carried out on the displayed image by right clicking on the image. The right and left arrow keyboard keys can also be used, to move to the next or previous image. Use End key to fast forward or Home key to rewind.
    The indicator, on the Control panel becomes active to indicate that there's an text file associated with the displayed image.

    Right arrow = '>' (Forward) .
    Left arrow = '< '(Back) .
    End = '>>' (Fast forward) .

    AUTO MODE

    To change the delay period(max 120 seconds), right click on Menu(F4) (and select Options from the popup menu. If there is any audio messages associated with the loaded images, they can be synchronized to play with the appropriate image (by selecting Sync. audio messages from the Options dialog). Click the '>' button and the images will start showing, one at a time, with a delay in-between. Clicking the '||' (pause) button stops the images from being displayed and clicking the '>' button restarts from the next image or the '<' button to run backwards. Click '||' (pause) then '<' button to show previously shown image(s). Click the 'O' (stop) button to stop any more images from being shown. Clicking the '>' button again will start from first image. Clicking the 'O' (stop) or '||' (pause) allows the images popup menu to be shown.
    The right and left arrow keyboard keys can also be used, to start showing images forward, or backward.

    SLIDES

    Selecting displays all the images in a list, as slides/thumbnails. Slides/thumbnails can be stopped from loading by clicking O (stop) button. Right click on slide/thumbnail to view the popup menu options.
    Moving the cursor over the image in a slide, will activate the indicator labels,
    if there is a text file or if their is an audio file, associated with that image.
    To view text and/or listen to message, right click on image, and select Image info from popup menu.
    To set slide/thumbnail view and slides per row by selecting Options from the Menu popup menu.

    Down arrow = 'O' (Stop).

    DELETE

    Select Delete from a popup menu on an image or slide. A dialog box allowing the displayed image to be sent to the Trash Can will be shown. Click the Yes or Cancel button.
    Please note: if the image has an text and/or audio file, it will also be sent to the Trash Can.

    RENAME

    Select Rename from a popup menu on an image or slide. A dialog box allowing the displayed image to be renamed will be shown. Enter a new name in input box. Click the OK or Cancel button.
    Please note: if the image has an text and/or audio file, it will also be renamed.

    COPY/MOVE

    Select Copy/Move from a popup menu on an image or slide. A dialog box allowing the displayed image to be copied or moved will be shown. Select Drive(if necessary) and the folder(using UP and OPEN buttons) to where the image should be copied/moved. A new name can be given to the destination image. Click the OK button, to copy or move the image. If successful, confirmation will be given. Click the CLOSE button to exit.
    Please note: if the image has a text and/or audio file, it will also be moved or copied.

    IMAGE INFO

    The indicator, on the Control panel becomes active to indicate that there's an text file associated with the displayed image.

    To view info and/or listen audio, select Image info from a popup menu on a image or slide to display the Image Info dialog box. The dialog box displays a thumbnail, full filename and the full filename of a text file and/or audio file associated with the image(if there is one). Other image details are also displayed. There is a text box to allow information to be entered, printed and saved. Select either, Image Info, to display the info to go with the displayed image. Or, Image List, a list of image names from the current selected folder will be shown. Both can be saved and printed. If there is a audio message, the Play button will be enabled. A message can be recorded from this dialog.

    OPTIONS/Options

    Set rendering Quality or Speed.
    Set Slide or Thumbnail.
    Set auto Delay.
    Set Slides per row. Number of slides to fit the width of A4 paper.
    Set Sync on or Sync off to sync audio messages(if any) with showing images.
    Set Continuous view, to show images, continuously, i.e. when last image is show, first image will show next.
    Set Load last viewed(on startup), to load the last viewed images automatically at start up.
    Set Random view to view images in a random order.
    Set Save settings(on Exit) to save all option settings when the program is closed.
    Set Frame/window view, to view images on a seperate screen.
    Set Full screen to set screen to the full size of monitor screen.
    Set Manuel Mode to show Window in Manuel Mode. Set Auto Mode to show Window in Auto Mode. Click the APPLY button to set changes.

    OPTIONS/Effects

    From this panel select the image effects.
    Set Shadow to view images with a shadow effect.
    Set Dissolve(Auto only) one image will dissolve into next.
    Set Transforms will allow one image to transform into next image.
    Set None remove any effects.
    Set Monochrome to view all images in momochrome.
    Set a Frame Rate if Dissolve is set.
    Set a transform if Transform is set.
    Set speed of transformation if Transform is set.
    Click the APPLY button to set changes.

    OPTIONS/Appearence

    From this panel, the foreground and background color of all windows and dialogs can be set. To change a color, move sliders to get desired color. To save this color, right click on the main color box, then left click on one of the smaller boxs below. To use one of the saved colours, right click on a color, then left click on main color box. Check either Set background color or Set text color to set chosen color. Set gradient gives a graded appearence to the background color. An image can also be used as a background(main window only).
    Click the APPLY button to set changes.

    OPTIONS/Screen

    To change the appearance of the image screen, move sliders to get desired color. Check the Set color checkbox to use selected color for image screen.To save this color, right click on the main color box, then left click on one of the smaller boxs below. To use one of the saved colours, right click on a color, then left click on main color box. The border of the image screen can also be changed, by selecting None, Plain, Round, Lower Bevel Raised Bevel or Raised Edge. Set Mount to view images with a card mount effect.
    Click the APPLY button to set changes.

    PHOTO ALBUMS/FOLDER PROFILES(PROFILES)

    Select Open/Profiles from the Menu popup menu.
    A list of saved Profiles (if any) will be displayed. Select a title from the list, To view that Profile click the Load button.
    Remove, will remove a selected Profile from the list(Send to the Trash Can).
    Rename, the selected Profile can be renamed.
    Edit, will display the selected Profile as slides, so new images can be added, or images can be removed or re-organised.
    List, will list all images in the selected Profile.
    Profiles, will list all saved Profiles.
    Print, prints the displayed list.

    PLEASE NOTE:
    Profiles from older VisionViewer software can be added to 'SimplyView'. Copy all files from older version 'Profiles' folder to 'OldProfiles' folder of 'SimplyView'. They will automatically be added at startup.

    CREATING A PHOTO ALBUM

    Select a folder and display the images as slides. Right click on a slide and select Add to album/profile to add it to the New Photo Album, the border of that slide will turn green to indicate it has been selected. Add all the required slides from that folder, to the album in the same way. Select New Photo Album from the Menu popup menu. A new window will be displayed containing all the selected slides. To organise slides, right click on a slide, select Move from here, then right click on the slide the selected slide should go to, and select Insert here. Slides can be removed from the album by right clicking on a slide and selecting Remove Slide. To add a caption, right click on the slide, and select Add a caption. A dialog box will be displayed allowing entry of a caption. An existing caption can be changed in the same way. To remove a caption, select Remove caption.
    From the menu select File\Clear to remove all slides from the album.
    From the menu select File\Restore restore the last slide removed from the album.
    From the menu select File\Save to give the album a title.
    From the menu select File\SaveAs will create a new album with a new name.
    From the menu select File\Print to print the slides in the album.

    PLEASE note:
    If you wish to add more slides from another folder to this album, DO NOT close/exit, the window, just minimise it, then load up another folder of slides and add them to the album in the same way.
    Please note:
    Adding or removing slides to a Photo Album does not move, copy or delete the original images from their original folders. A list of the images is created, and images are added to, or removed from this list.

    EDITING A PHOTO ALBUM

    Select a Photo album from Open/Profiles, then click the Edit button, to load up the images as slides. Right click on slide and select Remove to remove that slide. To add new slides, minimise the window containing the slides. Load up a new folder of slides, and right click Add to album to add that slide to current Photo album.

    AUDIO MESSAGES

    Select Image Info from an image/slide popup menu. Click the Record button to record a message into the system microphone. Click the Play to playback recorded message.
    The message is automatically saved.
    Messages can also be recorded on system sound recorder.
    Record a message and save it with the same name as the image name it relates to, with the 'wav' extension.
    i.e. an audio message relating to 'image1.jpg' would be saved as 'image1.wav'.
    The audio file should be saved in a folder inside the folder where 'image1.jpg' resides. The folder should be named 'svFiles', if it does not exist, it needs to be created. So if the full path to 'image1.jpg' is 'C:/MyPhotos/image1.jpg', then the path to audio file will be, 'C:/MyPhotos/svFiles/image1.wav'.

    FULL IMAGE

    Right click on an image or slide, and select Full image from the popup menu, and the full size image will be displayed in its own window. This image can be printed(if printing paper large enough).

    AUDIO/VISUAL

    Select Sync on from OPTIONS/Options dialog box, to automatically play any audio messages with the current set of images.

    CAPTIONS

    Add or remove a caption to a Photo album image from the image or slide popup menu.

    EXPORT

    Select Open then Import/Export from the Menu popup menu. Select a Profile from the Profiles list. Check text/audio to include any text and audio files to be included with the export file. Click the List button to show all files that will be included in the export file. Select a folder to export the file to. Click the Export button to export to that folder(all files will be compressed into one file). The export file will have the same name as the Profile, and have the .zpa extension if it is a Photo album or the .zfp extension if it is a Folder profile. This export file can now be easily passed on to friends and family, by removable disc, or as an e-mail attachment etc.

    IMPORT

    Select Open then Import/Export from the Menu popup menu. Select Import then browse to find the file to be imported. Only folders, and files that have the .zpa or .zfp extension will be listed. All the files contained in the import file will be unpacked into a folder, with the same name as the import file, in the same folder as the import file. The name of this folder will be added to the list of Profiles, and can then be view as any other Profile.

    CONVERTING A FOLDER PROFILE TO A PHOTO ALBUM

    Load a Folder profile as slides. Right click on a slide, and select Add all to album from the popup menu. Select New photo album from the Menu popup menu. Give the new Photo album a title.

    PRINTING IMAGES.

    To print an image or selection of slides, select Print from a popup menu. The page setup dialog box should appear. Select paper size(A4 is the default paper). Select orientation, Portrait or Landscape. Select Centre image to centre image on paper. Enter values for Left, Right, Top, Bottom to set up your own margins. Use Enter/Return key after each entry, to see position of image on paper. Or set the margins by using the arrow buttons. Select Image name to print the image name(if there is one). Select Page number to print page numbers(if more than one page). Remember to allow large enough margins, at the top and/or bottom of the image, if printing image name and/or page number.

    TRASH CAN.

    Select a file or profile from list
    Select Restore to restore that item back to where it originated
    Select Delete to delete that item.
    Select Empty to delete all items.
    Select Close to close Trash Can.

    SCREEN WINDOW

    The Screen window can be used in Manuel or Auto mode. By selecting Window from Options dialog box, a new screen will be shown in front of the main window. This screen will only show the images, no frame or controls etc. The screen can be shown the same size as the main window, or full screen, if Full screen has been selected from the Options dialog box.
    Use the keyboard keys to control the flow of images etc. To get back to main window and controls, use the F5 key.
