  1. New soil science website (5)

Date: Tue, 13 May 1997 16:38:09 +0800 From: Christopher Teh Boon Sung <chris@AGRI.UPM.EDU.MY> Subject: New soil science website Hi everyone, Does anyone know any soil teaching/tutorial websites? I'm looking for such sites to be included in my department's homepages. I've just completed putting up quite a large number of links (over 900 in fact) to various soil and agriculture websites. But I'm more interested in sites that provide tutorials/teaching on soil science. Please let me know. The ones I have collected so far can be located at this URL: http://www.agri.upm.edu.my/jst/resources.html Suggestions and comments are welcomed. Best wishes. ------------------------------- Christopher Teh Dept. of Soil Science, UPM

A bit slow coming here from Malaysia, but well worth the wait. Some useful links I didn't find.... http://pubpages.unh.edu/~harter/soilchem.html http://www.cof.orst.edu/coops/ntc/gef.htm http://syllabus.syr.edu/ESF/RDBRIGGS/FOR345/ http://www.forestry.auburn.edu/studies/course/fy611.html I'm developing material for some of my courses as well, accessed at http://weber.u.washington.edu/~robh/Courses/ESC311/1997/ There are some neat home pages (kaolinite, soil amendments, soil stability, etc.) built by students that are now accessable from there. I am not sure if our site fits as a tutorial, but it does have educational information on aridic soils of the U.S. and Israel. http://ag.arizona.edu/OALS/IALC/soils/home.html Carla Casler Arid Lands Information Center University of Arizona 1955 East Sixth St. Tucson, Arizona 85719-5224 USA 520-621-8571 fax: 520-621-3816 ccasler@ag.arizona.edu http://ag.arizona.edu/OALS/oals/oals.html ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------- "Mix a little foolishness with your prudence; it's good to be silly at the right moment." --Horace (Quintus Horatius Flaccus) 65-8 B.C. >

This has information on soil (including the SOIL ZOO!), habitat conservation, the environmental impacts of pest control and the wine industry. It has projects, a downloadable game, information, links to other sites and career information.
