For full information about E.T. Net you should contact Susan Sparks at: Susan_Sparks@OCCSHOST.NLM.NIH.GOV > >I've taken the liberty of showing your letter to a couple of >colleagues in the department with Internet access and strong >clinical and research interests in ALS. From the description >you give of the group, I will also pass a copy of your letter >to the people who run our ALS clinic, so that any patients with >Internet access might benefit. > Thanks for the invitation. > Lanny J. Haverkamp > Thanks ... all interested folk are welcome (and invited) to join us. By the way, anyone who subscribes to an e-mail system that has an "Internet Gateway" will be able to participate. This includes such systems as CompuServe, America On Line, Delphi, MCI Mail, BITNET, PeaceNet, SovAm Teleport, Genie, etc. Unfortunately Prodigy does not have such a gateway, so their subscribers will not be able to reach us from that system. Again, it is great to hear from you. rgds, bro (2) ===== > >Date : 12 Feb 93 18:45:22 EST >From : Mike Ward <72567.400@CompuServe.COM> >To : >Subject: Re: ALS & e-mail > >Bob, Please add me to your list. >Mike > Will do Mike. I have included your note here so others will know how to reach you. Hope you don't mind. rgds, bro (3) ==== The following message comes to us via CompuServe from the Center for Neurologic Study in San Diego. To reach CompuServe subscribers from the Internet, one needs to reformat the address. For Jonathan it would be: 72677.1211@compuserve.com > >CompuServe Mail >Date: 12-Feb-93 19:26 EST >From: Jonathan Licht [72677,1211] >Subj: ALS > >To Bob Broedel, thank you for the information, Jonathan Licht > Jonathan ... Many thanks for the telephone call. Your idea of having an ALS bulletin board system (with a menu, archives, etc.) is a good idea. For the moment though, all I can do is echo messages via this "digest" format. We are still searching for a host computer that will let us do the types of things you mentioned ... it is just a matter of time. Until then my goal is to keep building the list of ALS-interested folk who are on e-mail. Something good is going to come from this ... thanks to you and others who are answering the call. rgds, bro P.S. You should probably get in touch with Don Parsons (PhD, MD, etc.). He is the List Owner of HSPNET-L (Hospital Net), and he is more qualified to answer the types of things you were asking about. His address is: dfp10@nacsc2.albany.edu or, 71777.212@compuserve.com (4) ===== Here is another discussion group that may serve as a model of how we should be handling the ALS INTEREST GROUP. >Date : Fri, 12 Feb 1993 10:45:19 CST >Sender : MEDNETS Medical Telecommunications Networks > : >From : Marty Hoag >Subject: New list STROKE-L > >Another list of possible medical interest from the new-list list. >Marty > >Date : Fri, 12 Feb 1993 10:38:18 CST >From : "Crovo, Bob" >Subject: NEW: Stroke-L CerebroVascular Accident > >STROKE-L on LISTSERV@UKCC.BITNET CerebroVascular Accident > or LISTSERV@UKCC.UKY.EDU > >The purpose of the Stroke List (Stroke-L) is to share information and >opinions, ideas and inquiries that relate to the topic of stroke.
