Howdy ! How'd you like to get 282 CPS file transfer rate out of your MNP5 modem on a .ZIP, .ARC, .LZH or other file transfer ? You can do it but you need to make a few changes to your init. string and settings in your communications pgrm. This is the init string that I use to get 282 CPS out of my 2400 mnp5 Everex modem. You have to initialize the modem at 9600 baud and call at 4800... it really works even though the connect steps down to 2400 upon connect. Give it a try. Make sure the CTS/RTS is enabled, the XON/XOFF software flow control is OFF and the DSR/DTR OFF. I even send files at an incredibly accelerated rate. Here is the Init String: ATZ^M~~~AT&F S7=45 S0=0 \J0\N3\V1 M0 X1^M~ That's it ! I am using Telix 3.12, which after messing with all the big guys, I have decided that it is superior to even the high dollar ones like Procomm, etc... If you aren't using Telix, you may be experiencing problems anyway with emulating ANSI.BBS or the other terminals properly and also with a slight incompatibility problem with transfer protocols like (especially) Ymodem & Ymodem-G. Good Luck and Happy Modeming. Mike - My House BBS Amarillo, Texas 806-353-4188 3/12/24MNP5 24hours 150 Megs Online ! MDT
